What is Conway Corp. doing to stay up with the latest technologies?
As technologies change, customers want more services. This has impacted our cable and Internet business plans. So, in addition to adding services to cable like Video On Demand and High Definition and increasing speeds for our Internet service, we have recently added telephone service to our offerings. The infrastructure was already in place to add this service, and having the service available locally makes it more convenient for our customers.
When did Conway Corporation begin offering telephone service?
Conway Corporation began offering telephone service to its customers in early January. This allowed Conway Corporation to offer its new Gimme 5 pack with electric, water, cable, Internet and telephone all on one bill.
How has the new service been accepted?
Great. More than 850 customers signed up in the first two months.
How does the service work?
Conway Corporation’s telephone service uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology which allows you to make voice calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of the standard analog phone line. Conway Corporation’s VoIP allows our customers to call local, long distance, mobile, and international numbers. Additionally, while some VoIP services only work over the computer or a special VoIP phone, Conway Corporation’s service allows customers to use a traditional phone connected to a standard house outlet or the eMTA we provide. An eMTA is simply a cable modem with telephone ports built in.
Transitioning to our telephone service is easy; customers can keep their current phone number or get a new one. Conway Corporation telephone customers can call 911 normally as well as 411 and the operator. Customers are still listed in the local phone book.
What’s included with your new telephone service?
The service includes unlimited local and long distance service, call block, call forwarding, call return, call waiting, do not disturb, caller ID, and find me, which allows customers to forward calls to as many as five different alternate locations. The service also includes selective call forwarding, speed dial, three-way calling and voicemail. International calling is available at very low per-minute rates.
In addition, you can manage your phone account online. Customers can log-on and check their voice mail, call logs and manage features like voice mail and call forwarding.
Cost for residential telephone service is $37.95 per month for the first phone line and $21.95 for each additional line. We do offer discounts to customers who have cable and/or Internet services in addition to telephone service.
What about business lines?
Business service will be available in June. Business rates will be $44.95 per month for the first line and $27.95 for each additional line.
