Latest housing report could indicate better days

The latest report from the Arkansas Realtors Association might indicate the beginnings of a turnaround, according to Ethan Nobles, director of media relations for the ARA.
Nobles was hopeful that an increase in sales and prices in February might precede similar news in March. Although comparing month-to-month data is "not the best gauge," he said, "it shows a bit of improvement, at least."
The following are the data that indicates the possible improvement in market conditions. Figures were provided by the Arkansas Realtors Association:
Statewide averages — highest average prices for the month

$139,057 $152,981 -9.10
January

Rachel's Rumors: Walmart rumor abounds

Here is a rumor that has been around the pond once or twice. Although it is a slippery one, and I cannot seem to get a hook in it, sources I trust seem confident it is true.

They say a Walmart Neighborhood Market is coming to the area between First Presbyterian Church and Morningside Drive. I do not have a timetable on this.

Walmart Neighborhood Market is basically a grocery store and pharmacy with some general goods and other things you might expect to see at a grocery store, like photo developing services. It is for people who don't want to go to the Walmart Supercenter people who want to grab a loaf of bread or something and get in and out quickly.
